Does Gxpress work in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. We handle freight and customs clearance for companies in Abu Dhabi, and we deliver across the emirate.
Our office is in Business Bay, Dubai. You get one contact there who runs the shipment from booking to delivery.
Which port and airport serve Abu Dhabi cargo?
Sea cargo for Abu Dhabi moves through Khalifa Port. Air cargo moves through Zayed International Airport.
Some cargo for Abu Dhabi is better landed in Dubai, at Jebel Ali or one of the Dubai airports, and trucked across. We compare the routes for each shipment and tell you which one we would use and why.
How does customs clearance work in Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi has its own customs authority, Abu Dhabi Customs. A company that imports through Abu Dhabi needs a customs registration number from it. You request the number on TAMM, the Abu Dhabi government services portal.
A Dubai Customs business code is a separate registration. Which one you need depends on where the cargo is cleared, so tell us your route and we check before it ships.
Duty and VAT follow the same UAE rules in both emirates. Most goods pay 5 percent of the CIF value in duty, then 5 percent VAT on the CIF value plus duty.
Do you handle free zone and mainland companies in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. A free zone company follows the free zone procedure, and duty is suspended while the goods stay in the zone. A mainland company pays duty when the goods are cleared.
Tell us which one you are before the cargo ships, because the papers are different.
Where in Abu Dhabi do you deliver?
We deliver across the emirate, including Abu Dhabi city, Musaffah and KEZAD.
We also run full and part loads by road from the UAE to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, with the border documents.
What do we need to quote an Abu Dhabi shipment?
Send these five details and we reply within one business day.
- Origin and destination
- What the goods are, with the HS code if you have it
- Weight and dimensions, or the number of containers
- The trade term on your order
- The date the goods will be ready
